Aathi Vinayagar

Aathi Vinayagar temple is the one and only temple in the world where Vinayagar is seen with a human face.

The temple is located near poonthottam, about 20 Kms from Mayiladuthurai in the Poombuhar road.

Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple

முற்காலத்தில் பாண்டிய அரசர்களின் தலைநகரமாக இருந்த மதுரையில் அமைந்துள்ளது இக்கோயில்.
இங்கு முதலில் சிவன் கோவிலே இருந்தது. பின்னர் 1560களில் விஜயநகரப் பேரரசால் கோவில் விரிவாக்கப்பட்டது.
இங்குள்ள சிவன் சுந்தரேஸ்வரர் என அழைக்கப்படுகிறார். தேவாரக் காலத்தில் திருவாலவாய் என அழைக்கப்பட்டது.
